'Maureen Horn Celebrates A Year' Press Release 3/30/2012

Maureen Horn Celebrates A Year
Of Major Professional Accomplishments

2011 Is Marked By Several Noteworthy
Achievements And New Designations

SARASOTA, Florida—(March 23, 2012)—2011 was a year filled with noteworthy accomplishments for Maureen Horn, a top-producing real estate agent in the Longboat Key South office of Michael Saunders & Company.
Horn, who joined the company just over two years ago, finished 2011 as one of the two top producers in her Longboat Key South office.  Plus, she was the fifth overall producer in the entire company—which now numbers over 550 agents in multiple offices throughout Southwest Florida.
The Horns, who are as highly regarded in local real estate circles as they were as the former owners of Maureen’s Palm Grill, on Longboat Key, also took time out in a busy year to obtain new professional designations to help further raise the level of service they offer their buyers and sellers.
Steve Horn has been awarded the Certified International Property Specialist designation—or CIPS®—which provides entry into a specialized group of global business practitioners sanctioned by the National Association of REALTORS®.  The CIPS designation prepares REALTORS® to service the growing market for international buyers in their local communities by focusing on culture, exchange rates, investment trends, legal matters and other issues of concern.  This designation is of particular importance in Southwest Florida, which has just been ranked #4 in the Top Ten Hotspots for Global Homebuyers, by Inman News—a leading source for information about trends and practices in the U.S. real estate industry.
Maureen Horn, in the meantime, earned two new professional designations during 2011.  She has been awarded both the Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist designation (CLHMS)—from the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing—as well as the Resort & Second-Home Property Specialist designation (RSPS) from the National Association of REALTORS®.
By earning the RSPS designation, Horn joins a select group of professionals around the world who facilitate the buying, selling, and management of properties for investment, development, retirement, or second homes in resort, recreational and/or vacation destinations.  The CLHMS designation assures affluent buyers and sellers that their chosen professional has the breadth of knowledge, experience, competence and confidence necessary to facilitate transactions involving luxury properties.   Moreover, to qualify for the CLHMS designation each recipient must first provide documented proof that they rank in the top 10% of volume producers in his or her respective market.
“The best thing that can be said about our market in 2011 is that the worst is over; and that we’re finally on a solid path toward recovery,” says Horn.  “The caution light that still exists for buyers and sellers, however, is that every type of transaction can be very complex, which is why Steve and I have worked hard to earn every designation that counts to our clients and customers.”
2011 was also the year in which Maureen Horn was named a Five Star Real Estate Agent for the fifth consecutive year by Sarasota Magazine in conjunction with Five Star Professional.  Five Star Professional is an organization that provides localized, independent research on the performance of service professionals.  This award is particularly coveted in the real estate community because it is decided by a consensus of the agent’s clients, peers and industry experts.
The Horns specialize in properties throughout Sarasota, particular those in the highly sought-after neighborhoods west of Tamiami Trail, on the keys and in Lakewood Ranch.
“In the relatively short time that Steve and I have been in the real estate business, we have built a strong and enduring business based on referrals by satisfied clients,” Horn added.  “Still, we are also consumed with expanding our knowledge of the market in order to always be the best possible resource for our buyers and sellers.  That’s why we have worked hard to earn these designations and why continually partake of the many outstanding continuing education classes that are offered through the Career Training Center at Michael Saunders & Company.  In the topsy-turvy markets we’ve been operating in over the past six years, we want our clients to know that we are always prepared for any transaction, however difficult, that comes our way.”
